Mill Stream Fly Box

I have been very fortunate over my 30 years of fly fishing to have been able to use some of the best equipment around.  Fly boxes always seemed to be my nemesis though.  Some were too bulky, others were to long, and other boxes just didn’t seem store my flies right.  Then when I did find a great box, it usually became discontinued in a year of so.

Well, one fly box has stood the test of time.  They have become the go-to fly box I use.  Mill Stream has always been there selling some great boxes and other products for the fly fisherman.  I have used these boxes for years and years.  They are very well made.  Since I’m an Orvis Endorsed guide, I’m out on the stream day in and out.  My Mill Stream boxes take a beating and they hold up great.  And another ting- they are made here in the USA!!

Mill Stream offers much more than great fly boxes.  I have been using many of their other fine products for years and years.  Mill Stream can also offer indicators, nippers, zingers split shot and more.  Mill Stream products can be found just about anywhere from the big name stores to the small fly fishing shops nestled beside your favorite trout stream.

Karen, from Mill Stream adds, “Mill Stream has been in business manufacturing boxes for 25+ years. My dad, Don Dobrowski, and my brother David started running injection molders back when the only boxes you could get were foreign-made. Their focus was on producing a well-made, basic box that anyone could afford – from the smallest mom-and-pop shop to big box stores – and that would promote the STORE name, not ours.

It’s quite a small niche – most box maker market under their own name. We want to be everyone’s “house” box; always available quickly at a reasonable price. The “fad” boxes come and go, but we remain.
We also specialize in a very high quality ripple foam that is quite unlike most formed foam – it’s very elastic and lasts much longer than more rigid foams. Our Nubby/Tack liner material – a “perpetual” liner that is not damaged by hooks and so pretty much lasts forever – appears only in Mill Stream boxes and is extremely popular because it will securely hold all sizes and types of hooks, including barbless.”

You can find all of Mill Streams great products at http://www.millstreamproducts.com/.    You can find my Mike Heck’s Trout Guide Mill Stream boxes at www.fallingsprings.com.  I offer two sizes.  I offer the 9 and 12 compartment for $6.75 each or two for $12.50.  I also offer a variety of fly sets using my Mill Stream fly boxes.
