So here's a question to hopefully get people talking. What do you want to see in a fly rod review? What is important to you when you're looking for fly rod reviews? Is it the specs of the rod and it's materials? Is it the company name? Is it warranty or manufacturer quality reputation? There are a lot of factors separating one fly rod from the next. Aside from cost, what are you looking for in a fly rod?

I read a lot of fly rod reviews on other sites, and to be honest, a lot of them really don't tell you a whole lot about the real performance of the rod. When I think of fly rod reviews, I think of a review where the reviewer spends real time with the product. Maybe years worth of fly fishing with a particular rod to be able to create an accurate description of the rod's best and worst features. I recently had the butt section of a fly rod slide off of the reel seat after about 5 years of use. Up until that point, I would have reviewed that rod pretty highly based on it's overall performance, build quality, cost and warranty.

This is a bit of a dilemma as far as fly rod reviews go. I mean, you can't honestly pick up a brand new rod that you've never fished with before, fish with that rod for a weekend and come up with a believable, respectable review of the rod.

I'd like the fly rod reviews on flyfishreviews.com to be as accurate and beneficial as possible, so I'd like to know what you, the audience wants to know. How best to execute the review process and any other information you would like to know.
